So. . .
You gonna watch?
How about your kids? If they are in public school, will they watch there?
If you homeschool, will you make a lesson out of it?
What do you think about all this?

I think it is a tempest in a teapot. I do wish conservatives would pick their battles a bit more carefully. Save all this rhetoric for Healthcare, Taxes or the War. Do they really think our children will instantly become liberal automotrons the second the President begins to speak??
I didn't know it was going to be aired on reg. tv. I might watch it with the kids.
Deb - I'm so glad to hear you say that! I'm not crazy after all. I keep thinking, "What am I missing?" Both Presidents Reagan and GH Bush spoke to school kids (albeit maybe not the entire nation of kids at one time, but still).
We will probably watch it. I think it is being aired on C-Span at noon or 1pm (EST). I'd much rather watch it and talk with my kids about it than flee in chicken-little-esque terror. :)
Kerry - you and I can be crazy together! LOL. Thanks for the info about when it airs... I didn't think to check out CSpan.
I think the controvers was over the lesson plans and guided discussion that was sent out to all the teachers. Not sure what was in them as I didn't follow that story very closely. I did watch the speech yesterday with the kids and found it to be very appropriate and was much of the things that I would have said had they let me give that speech - your future will be what you make of it now get busy, study and do your homework! LOL
Rebel in OZ - sounds like my opinion: an OK speech. Could have been given by anyone, but I'm sure it made a positive impact to hear the President encouraging kids to keep working hard.
Nothing earthshattering here.
